An hour through the snow
We travelled by organised coach and booked the horse-drawn sleigh ride as an extra. For roughly an hour we moved through a white landscape that felt like a Christmas film.
The coach and sleigh ride cost about HUF 25,000; with food and other spending the full trip reached roughly HUF 35–40,000.
Sledding like children again
It was incredibly cold and snow covered everything. We brought a small sled, found an icy slope and laughed like children again.
We also kept eating smoked mountain cheese with jam – an unusual combination that tasted amazing.
A winter adventure I would repeat
Zakopane gave me a perfect mix of sister time, winter scenery and uncomplicated fun. I would return for the same kind of snowy adventure at any time.
