Warsaw, Europe’s mini New York

Arriving with confidence

After Prague and New York, I travelled to Warsaw with confidence and curiosity. I had heard it called Europe’s mini New York and wanted to see whether the comparison was true.

Public transport took me from the airport into a centre filled with glass towers and modern architecture.

A city from above

My main goal was the Varso Tower observation deck. I bought my ticket there for roughly HUF 7–8,000, and the fast lift and expanding view reminded me of the Empire State Building.

Warsaw felt modern and ambitious like New York, but calmer. I spent much of the day walking through parks, where a curious squirrel even jumped onto me.

My European favourite

I ended the day at Kiki with avocado toast, shrimp and coffee. Warsaw became my second favourite destination after New York and the European city I would choose first when asked where I would return.
