Solo in Prague – the journey that changed everything

One day that began with fear and ended with the realisation that I could travel freely on my own.

Leaving alone for the first time

I left for Prague early in the morning, completely on my own for the first time. I was excited, but I also wondered what would happen if I got lost or needed help.

I knew this journey could change how I travelled. If I enjoyed it, I would no longer have to wait until someone else had the time, money or desire to join me.

A city made for walking

Pastel façades, cobbled streets, towers and the Vltava impressed me immediately. I explored Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock, crossed Charles Bridge and continued to the castle district.

The day gave me more than photographs. It showed me that I could navigate, make decisions and enjoy my own company.

The beginning of freedom

Prague remains one of my favourite recommendations for a first solo city break: beautiful, manageable and exciting enough to feel like a real adventure even in a single day.

My cost: about HUF 50,000. This is the cost of my own trip; prices change with dates, booking time and personal choices.
