Copenhagen in a snowstorm

A colourful harbour, Scandinavian architecture and the heaviest local snowstorm in years.

The winter we wanted

My partner and I both wanted to see Denmark, and because we love cold weather we chose Copenhagen in winter. A huge snowstorm greeted us; restaurant staff said they had not seen one like it for years.

At Pomodoro I tried pistachio pasta with artichoke, while my partner chose pizza.

The most beautiful harbour I have seen

We walked as much as possible and used the metro for longer distances. Nyhavn under fresh snow was simply the most beautiful harbour I had ever seen.

We also visited the Black Diamond library, watched the changing of the guard at Amalienborg, walked through Kastellet and ended at The Little Mermaid.

For travellers who truly love cold

Copenhagen was expensive, but otherwise easy and wonderful. Our trip cost about HUF 200,000 for two, and I would gladly return – especially in winter.

My cost: about HUF 200,000 for two. This is the cost of my own trip; prices change with dates, booking time and personal choices.
